Mike O. Warner, M.A.

Mike brings more than ten years of fundraising experience to Pitts & Associates through previous work as Director of Development for the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University and Development Director for the School of Nursing at the University of Texas at Austin.

Mike grew up playing recreational baseball and basketball, was a sprinter for the St. Louis University track team, and has coached youth league teams in baseball, softball, and basketball.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Mike earned his bachelor's degree from St. Louis University and a master's degree in theatre administration from the University of Texas at Austin.  He founded and managed a comedy and musical theatre company in Austin before taking up fundraising duties at the nursing school in Austin.  He started working at Appalachian State University in 1996 where he has been an administrator and a lecturer in theatre and the business of the arts.

Mike is a practicing writer who specializes in case development and organizational structure and leadership training.  His background includes more than 20 years of practical experience in structuring and implementing strategic plans.  He has led university campaigns for some of the premier universities in the south, most recently working with Davidson College.

Mike has a keen ability to take complex issues and develop a clear and engaging prose style case for support.  Mike is a featured writer for the award-winning Charlotte Observer editorial section.  He holds Masters Degrees from Texas University and Missouri University.
